PALM CITY, Fla. – Sunny Kim of Queens, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, already the career money leader on the Minor League Golf Tour, set a scoring record Tuesday, the first player to break 60 with a 12 under par 59 at The Fox Club. Kim was having a great day making 8 birdies in the first 15 holes and got himself in contention to win after starting the day 9 shots back of Gavin Hall. At that point Hall was -9 through 14 (32) and Kim -8 through 15 (33). Kim's day went from great to special when his 9 iron from 165 yards found the bottom of the hole for a rare eagle 2 on the par-4 16th to get to -10 on the round and in the lead alone. At this point the 59 watch was fully on the par 71 Fox Club. After a nice sand save on the par-3 17th, Sunny hit a perfect tee shot on the par-5 18th leaving him 221 yards across water to the green. His 5 iron found the front right part of the green 25 feet short of the hole. His putt never left the center and rolled in for the first 59 in the 17 year history of the MLGT. Congratulations Sunny!
