The final round of the season carries a lot of drama, from the top of the leaderboard to the bottom. In fact the player who is in last place, has a huge round ahead of him. Here is the important numbers to remember.
Top 100- Keep full card and exempt into every non-signature event
101-110- The first conditional category and will likely get into almost every non-signature event
111-125- Second conditional category, likely to get into most of non-signature events
126-150- Third conditional category. Really unknown how many events they will get in. Estimates vary from just a few to 12 or so.
“First 40”- This refers to the first 40 players who finish 101st or worse in FedExCup points AND choose to enter Q-School.
Some players who finish outside the top 100 won’t need Q-School (like Max Homa, who is exempt for next year). Those players are skipped. The Tour simply keeps moving down the points list until 40 committed players are found.
Those 40 players get a free pass straight to final stage, which is a huge advantage because second stage will be extremely crowded and very difficult to get through this year.
Sam Valimaki – A win gives him a two-year exemption, but he’s already safe at 74th.
Michael Thorbjornsen – Same deal. Secure at 72nd.
Patrick Rodgers – Locked for next year at 63rd. His 312th start — would be a great story if he finally wins.
Andrew Novak – Zero pressure. Already in all signature events next year.
John Pak – 168th. Getting to 150th would be a huge win (some status + skip 2nd stage).
Si Woo Kim – Free roll today, like Novak.
Seamus Power – 129th. Needs to climb toward 110th for a better schedule.
Lee Hodges – 122nd. Real shot to jump into top 100.
Max McGreevy – Card secured.
Eric Cole – Same.
William Mouw – Ditto.
Doug Ghim – 125th. Needs to hold position. Top 110 would be huge; 126th would be brutal.
Nico Echavarria – Locked up, but chasing top 60 for early signature events.
J.T. Poston – In all signature events for 2025.
Davis Thompson – Card locked.
Mac Meissner – Same.
Mark Hubbard – Same.
Rico Hoey – Secure and likely to earn early-season signature starts.
Antoine Rozner – 163rd. Needs top 150 for any PGA Tour status.
Andrew Putnam – 119th. Needs top 100 ideally, but can’t fall outside 125.
Ricky Castillo – 135th. Huge day — 125th would mean a lot more starts.
Jonathan Byrd – 179th. Any climb helps his odds of being in the “first 40” who skip 2nd stage.
Patton Kizzire – Kizzire initially looked like he was in the same situation at 180th, but his win last Fall in Napa means he's exempt through next season.
Webb Simpson – 178th. Likely to use his top-50 career money exemption (gets him into all non-signature events).
Troy Merritt – 209th. Needs something mid-60s to have any real benefit.
Keith Mitchell – Card locked.
Doc Redman – Non-member but playing great. Long shot for “first 40,” but possible.
Hayden Buckley – 177th. Needs to reach 150 and improve his “first 40” odds.
Greyson Sigg – 143rd. Top 125 is the target.
Harrison Endycott – 210th. Almost too far back; needs a crazy low round.
Ryan Palmer – 208th. Same spot as Endycott, but has past-champion status.
Denny McCarthy – In all signature events.
Sam Stevens – Ditto.
Niklas Norgaard – 161st. Needs top 150, but has full DPWT status regardless.
Quade Cummins – 155th. Needs to reach 150.
Vince Whaley – Card secured.
Jackson Suber – 121st. Big opportunity to reach 110.
Ben Kohles – 147th. Has to stay in top 150; top 125 requires a heater.
Michael Brennan – Best dressed in the field. (h/t Dunning)
Chris Kirk – Safe, but needs top 60 for signature-event security.
Alex Smalley – Card locked.
Sam Ryder – 120th. Needs another signature Ryder Sunday to stay fully exempt.
Harris English – Prob still getting yelled at by the Tour for the schedule leak.
Ben An – Card locked.
Trey Mullinax – 158th. Goal is 150th.
Patrick Fishburn – 109th. Wants top 100, but staying in top 110 is key.
Chan Kim – 131st. Needs 125th.
Henrik Norlander – 139th. Same — 125th is the target.
Ben Silverman – 142nd. Needs 125th too.
Karl Vilips – 100th but exempt from his Puerto Rico win.
Matthew Riedel – 181st. Needs movement to get into the “first 40.”
Adam Hadwin – 138th. Needs a low one to get to 125.
Mackenzie Hughes – Locked, but too far back for top 60.
Ben Martin – 185th. Needs something deep to reach “first 40.”
Thomas Rosenmueller – 152nd. Needs to get to 150.
Chez Reavie – 223rd. Nothing changes unless he shoots 57.
Matt Kuchar – 113th. Target is 110.
Pierceson Coody – Card locked from KFT, but his position affects others around him.
Brandt Snedeker – 126th. Needs 125th (big difference in starts).
James Hahn – 205th. Only matters if he shoots something wild.
Matthieu Pavon – 171st but locked via Farmers win.
Daniel Berger – In all signature events.
Brice Garnett – 153rd but safe due to his win.
Austin Eckroat – 118th. A good round could land him at 110.
Kris Ventura – 116th. Same — chasing 110.
Brendan Valdes – Already secured KFT status and final-stage spot.
Davis Riley – Card locked.
