Both the North and South courses at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, New Jersey, play host for this qualifier. The courses are tightly tree-lined and require accuracy off the tee and deft touch around the greens. This site tends to get many top amateurs and club pros from the northeast and this year is no exception.

Storylines
Chris Gotterup: The 24-year-old broke through this year and won the Myrtle Beach Classic on the PGA Tour. Gotterup has made 7 of 15 cuts this year, has nearly $1M in earnings, and is 78th in the FedEx Cup standings
Michael Thorbjornsen: The recent Stanford grad earned his PGA Tour card by topping the PGA Tour U rankings this season, an astonishing accomplishment considering he spent the fall season sidelined with a stress fracture in his back. Thorbjornsen was medalist in last year's sectional qualifier at Canoe Brook with scores of 66-68 to earn his third start in a U.S. Open. He's already proven he can contend at the professional level (T-4 finish at the 2022 Traveler's Championship) and now sets his sights on the U.S. Open.
Jim Herman: The 46-year-old is a three-time PGA Tour winner who has played in five U.S. Opens but has only played in two KFT and two PGA Tour events this season.
Ryan McCormick: The 32-year-old PGA Tour rookie just had his best finish ever at the Myrtle Beach Classic where he finished T-4. McCormick is a St. John’s grad and New Jersey native, and he probably feels right at home at Canoe Brook.
Max Greyserman: Greyserman was a model of consistency in 2023 on KFT making 18 of 24 cuts and earning his PGA Tour card. He has three top-25s in his rookie season on the PGA Tour but is looking for a breakout performance. He is 108th in the FedEx Cup standings.
